BugBlog: Ransomware hits major media sites through ad network

A malicious attacker managed to send ads tainted with ransomware through advertising networks. Some of the sites that were hit included The New York Times, the BBC, MSN, and AOL, according to a story at Ars Technica. Some of the ad networks that were infected may include Google, AppNexus, AOL, and Rubicon.
